Fritz Graf started his career at age 16 as a freelance trombonist in the Baltimore /Washington metropolitan area with multiple performances at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington DC. Subsequently, Mr. Graf spent 3 years as the bass trombonist for the Orquesta Sinfónica de Maracaibo in Maracaibo, Venezuela. While in Venezuela Mr. Graf also taught brass for La Sistema, the national music program for youth musicians in Coro, Venezuela. During the 90’s, he toured with Probable Cause, a R&B horn band based in Baltimore, MD where he had the opportunity to perform on the same bill for such groups as Expose, Atlantic Starr, CeCe Peniston and Peaches & Herb.

Among the many groups Mr. Graf has performed with are the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Carmel Symphony, the Bloomington Symphony, Tresuno-7, and the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus Band.

Since arriving in Indianapolis, he has made a name for himself working with the students of Avon HS, Ben Davis HS, and Plainfield HS in the concert hall and on the marching field. Along the way he has picked up five state championships in marching band and show choir.

Fritz Graf has received his Master of Music from Butler University and has attended the IU (Jacobs) School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. He is currently in his sixth year at the Indiana School for the Blind & Visually Impaired where he teaches band, piano, music theory, and electronic music.
